Pristyn Care is an Indian healthcare company focused on elective, or ‘secondary care’, surgery. Patients book a consultation online or by phone, see a Pristyn Care surgeon at one of its clinics, and have the procedure at a partner hospital, with the company handling paperwork, insurance and transport. Its website lists treatment for more than 50 conditions across proctology (piles, fistula, fissure), laparoscopy (hernia, gallstones), gynaecology, ENT, urology (kidney stones, circumcision), vascular surgery (varicose veins) and more, and offers no-cost EMI.
The company was founded in 2018 by Harsimarbir Singh, Dr Vaibhav Kapoor and Dr Garima Sawhney. Inc42 reported in December 2024 that it works through more than 200 clinics, 700 partner hospitals and over 400 in-house surgeons across 30 Indian cities, and that it expanded to Dhaka and Chittagong in Bangladesh in 2022.
Pristyn Care raised a $96 million Series E in late 2021 from investors including Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India), Tiger Global, Winter Capital, Epiq Capital and Hummingbird Ventures, at a $1.4 billion valuation, making it a unicorn; Inc42 put its total funding at about $177 million. For FY24 it reported operating revenue of INR 601 crore, up from INR 453 crore, and a net loss of INR 381 crore. Inc42 also reported job cuts in 2023 and 2024 as it worked towards profitability, that it was in talks to raise $50 to 100 million, and that it was preparing for an IPO within about three years.
Pristyn Care does not publish fixed prices. Costs depend on the procedure, the hospital, the city and insurance cover, and are quoted after a consultation.
