What Hexis Cloud does

Hexis is a shared knowledge layer for a team and all of its AI agents. It holds three things. Context is company knowledge where every page has an owner and changes go live only when the owner approves, with every version kept. Skills are reusable instructions for agents that anyone can suggest changes to in the browser; it starts with 58 ready-made ones. Tools are hundreds of services, such as HubSpot, Notion, Jira, Linear, Google Drive, GitHub, Gmail and Zendesk, reached through a single MCP connection, with keys kept on the server so agents never see a credential.

Access rules can be set per folder, file, skill and tool for both people and their agents, and audit logs show which agent used what. Everything is stored as commits in a git repository you control. Hexis works with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and any agent that speaks MCP. The software is open source under the Apache-2.0 licence and can be self-hosted with Docker.

Hexis Cloud, launched on Product Hunt on 12 October 2026, is the hosted version, made because many teams, especially non-technical ones, needed help running it themselves. It finished #7 for the day with 124 upvotes. Hexis is made by Bevel (Bevelites GmbH, Munich), the team behind the UTCP tool-calling protocol; Product Hunt lists co-founder Juan Viera Garcia and Ali Raza as its makers.

We have not tested Hexis ourselves. This page brings together its official site, its GitHub README, its Product Hunt page and the official pricing pages of comparable products, and says where each fact comes from.

What people use Hexis Cloud for

  • Giving every AI agent on a team the same approved company facts
  • Letting non-technical colleagues improve shared agent skills, with an owner approving changes
  • Connecting agents to many tools through one MCP endpoint without handing out API keys
  • Restricting which people and agents can see a folder, file, skill or tool
  • Keeping an audit trail of which agent used which tool

The launch story

Juan Viera Garcia says the team had a great time building and open-sourcing Hexis, but after the first launch they noticed that many people needed help hosting it. Because Hexis is especially useful for non-technical teams, they decided to offer a hosted version, Hexis Cloud.

In the comments, Ali Raza, who builds Bevel and UTCP, explained why a central brain rather than a code repository: many teams began by keeping rules and skills in git, but non-technical colleagues increasingly work on skills, tools like GitHub aren't intuitive for them, and repositories can't restrict access file by file. In Hexis, skills also carry explicit versions.

What users liked, asked and criticised

Liked
  • A hosted option, since hosting was the blocker after the first launch
  • Making it easier for the people who write a team's skills to take part
Asked about
  • Which agents can use it (answer: any agent that speaks MCP or UTCP)
  • How versions work when skills live centrally instead of in a repository (answer: skills have explicit versions)

Hosting was clearly the blocker, and it's nice to see it fixed.

A hosted option should make it easier for the people writing the team's skills to get involved.

Agents and clients used by Hexis at the moment: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or custom agents? Anyone who can speak MCP?

Frequently asked questions

Is Hexis free?

The hosted version is free for up to 3 people, and the open-source version is free to self-host under Apache-2.0. The Team plan is €10 per person a month, excluding VAT.

Which AI agents work with Hexis?

Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and any other agent that speaks MCP; a reply in the Product Hunt discussion added that agents using UTCP work too.

Do agents see my API keys?

No, according to Bevel. Keys stay on the Hexis server and agents reach tools through Hexis's MCP endpoint.

Why not just keep skills in a git repository?

Bevel's answer on Product Hunt: non-technical colleagues increasingly work on skills and find tools like GitHub hard to use, and repositories can't restrict access file by file. Hexis still stores everything as git commits in a repository you control.

Who makes Hexis?

Bevel (Bevelites GmbH, Munich), the team behind the UTCP tool-calling protocol.
