Deepgram is a voice AI company that sells its models to developers through APIs. Its three main products are speech-to-text (turning audio into text, either live or from recordings), text-to-speech, and a Voice Agent API that combines listening, speaking and a language model to run a whole spoken conversation. The current models are Nova-3 and Flux for speech-to-text and Aura for speech synthesis; Deepgram says Flux is built for conversations and that its text-to-speech latency can be as low as 80 milliseconds. Customers can use the models in real time or in batch, in Deepgram’s cloud or self-hosted. Companies named on its homepage include Twilio, Cloudflare, IBM, Sierra, Granola, Vapi and Decagon.
Funding
On 13 January 2026 Deepgram announced a $130 million Series C at a $1.3 billion valuation, led by AVP. Existing investors including Alkeon, In-Q-Tel, Madrona, Tiger, Wing, Y Combinator and funds managed by BlackRock joined, and Twilio, ServiceNow Ventures, SAP and Citi Ventures were among the new investors. At the same time it announced it had acquired OfOne, a voice AI company for restaurant drive-throughs, whose technology now underpins Deepgram for Restaurants. TechCrunch reported co-founder and CEO Scott Stephenson as saying Deepgram did not need the money and was cash-flow positive the previous year.
