Snackpass began in 2017 as a pickup-ordering app for restaurants near college campuses, with a social twist: friends could see where each other ordered, send gifts and earn rewards. TechCrunch reported in 2019 that it was founded by Kevin Tan and Jamie Marshall and had raised a $21 million Series A led by Andrew Chen of Andreessen Horowitz, attracted by its retention and its plan to expand from colleges to dense cities.
In 2021 Snackpass announced a $70 million Series B led by Craft Ventures, which QSR Magazine reported valued the company at more than $400 million. At the time it described itself as a social e-commerce platform for restaurants.
Its current website shows two businesses. The first is commerce: ordering and point of sale for restaurants across the Snackpass app, online and in store. The second, which leads the homepage, is a creator network. Local food creators apply to join, find paid collaborations with nearby restaurants and brands, and post about places they genuinely like; brands can have Snackpass run their creator programme for them. The restaurants shown on the site are mostly bubble tea shops, cafes and casual restaurants, such as Sharetea, Super Duper Burgers and California Fish Grill. We could not find news coverage of the creator business, so the description here comes from Snackpass’s own site.
The app is free for customers. Snackpass does not publish prices for its restaurant software or creator marketing services; businesses book a demo or apply for access. Restaurants comparing it with other systems should ask for the full fee structure, including card processing and any commission on app orders, before switching.
This profile is put together from the company’s own pages and published reporting, checked on 15 October 2026. We have not tested the product, and nothing here is paid placement.
