Snyk is a security company that builds tools for developers. Its platform finds
and helps fix vulnerabilities in the code a team writes, in the open-source packages
it depends on, in container images and in infrastructure-as-code files, and it now
presents itself as an AI Security Platform: an independent layer that checks AI-
generated code, governs AI coding agents and secures applications that use AI. It
plugs into developers’ editors, command line, source-code hosting, CI/CD pipelines
and AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor and Codex.

Snyk was founded in 2015 and reached unicorn status in 2020, according to its About
page. It is headquartered in Boston and lists offices in Bucharest, Cluj, Lisbon,
London, Ottawa, San Francisco, Singapore, Sydney, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and Zürich. Customers
named on its site include Google, Atlassian, Spotify, Snowflake, Twilio, Kroger,
Manulife and Jaguar Land Rover.

## What it scans

The plans page lists the products by what they check. Snyk Code is static analysis(
SAST) of your own source code. Snyk Open Source is software composition analysis(
SCA) of the packages you install. Container scans images, IaC scans infrastructure-
as-code configuration, and Secrets looks for leaked keys. API & Web tests running
applications. A newer family called Evo covers AI security posture, coding-agent
security and AI-driven penetration testing; Snyk says Evo is not available on the
Free or Team plans.

## Pricing

The Free plan costs nothing and covers SCA, SAST, IaC and Container scanning with
editor, CLI and repository integrations, limited to 5 projects and 100 Snyk Code
tests a month. Team starts at $25 a month, billed monthly at a flat rate for development
teams of up to 10 developers, and raises the limits to 100 projects and 1,000 Code
tests a month, with a Jira integration and next-business-day support. Enterprise
is sold as a platform subscription with prepaid credits, where one credit equals
one dollar. Each product burns credits at a published rate; Code and Open Source,
for example, cost one credit per active contributor per day.

_We have not tested Snyk ourselves. This page brings together Snyk’s official site,
its own announcements and reputable news coverage, plus the public pages of the
products it is compared with, and says where each fact comes from._
