NotchMate is a Mac app that puts Notchy, a small furry monster, in your MacBook’s
notch. He peeks out, waves when you unlock your Mac, puts on glasses during a focus
timer and stays quiet when you’re busy. Hover over or click the notch and it opens
into a panel with a music player for Spotify and Apple Music, a full-screen “Zen”
mode with synced lyrics or ambient visuals, weather, today’s calendar, a Pomodoro
timer, clipboard history, a file shelf, window snapping and a camera mirror.

Since its Halloween update you can pick from 24 creatures, and Notchy’s colour and
fur can be changed or switched off. It runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later and draws
a notch on Macs that don’t have one. It is available in nine languages and asks
for each permission only when you turn on the feature that needs it.

NotchMate is made by Bora Can Baltaci, a solo developer, and launched on Product
Hunt on 4 October 2026, finishing #32 for the day with 62 upvotes.

_We have not tested NotchMate ourselves. This page brings together its official
site, its Product Hunt page and the official pages of the products it is compared
with, and says where each fact comes from._
