mmhmm was a video app launched in 2020, during the pandemic, by Phil Libin, the
former CEO of Evernote. It let people improve how they looked and presented on video
calls: removing or replacing backgrounds, putting themselves next to their slides
like a TV presenter, and recording presentations to share later. It worked as a
virtual camera, so it could be used inside Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and
other meeting apps. In July 2021 TechCrunch reported that mmhmm had raised a fresh
$100 million, first reported by Bloomberg, taking its total funding to around $140
million when the company was just over a year old.

**Now called Airtime.** In April 2025 TechCrunch reported that mmhmm had taken the
name Airtime as its official company name and launched a toolkit for online meetings
under that brand. Airtime Creator, which lets you appear on screen alongside your
slides as you present, is effectively the successor to the original mmhmm product.
Airtime Camera lets you design or tint your background, add a logo and react with
visuals or GIFs in calls on Zoom, Teams, Meet, Webex and other services. Existing
mmhmm users saw the app’s name and icon change to Airtime. The old mmhmm.app domain
now redirects to airtime.com.

Airtime’s website describes it as essential tools for video at work and lists four
tools in one subscription: Camera, Recorder, Creator and Stacks. Its pricing page
says an Individual plan costs $12 a month billed monthly or $10 a month billed annually,
with unlimited videos and custom looks for video calls. A Teams plan costs the same
per seat and adds an admin dashboard, centralised billing and single sign-on with
Apple or Google; an Enterprise plan adds priority support and access to its SOC
2 report. New users get a 14-day free trial with unlimited access to Creator, Camera
and Stacks.

This profile draws on Airtime’s own pages and published reporting. We have not tested
the product, and nothing here is paid placement.
