Aperture is an open-source AI code editor that runs in the browser. Its Composer
reads your code, posts a plan you can edit, and only after you click to build it
does it stage changes as diffs. Nothing is written to your files until you apply
a change, and you can keep or skip each file.

Before you apply anything, Aperture runs five checks on the staged change: the code
parses, its imports resolve, the TypeScript compiler finds no new type errors, the
preview still renders, and the project’s tests pass. The tests run in a sandboxed
worker in your browser tab with no network access. A check that couldn’t run says
why instead of showing as a pass, and a test that was already failing before the
edit is not blamed on it. Since launch the same checks are also available as an
MCP tool that other coding agents can call, and as a GitHub Action for pull requests.

You bring your own model key (Grok, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini or DeepSeek) or use
a local model through Ollama or LM Studio. The code is MIT-licensed and needs Node.
js 22.6 or newer to run yourself. Aperture is built by Witchayut Samnakhon and launched
on Product Hunt on 4 October 2026, finishing #33 for the day with 66 upvotes.

_We have not tested Aperture ourselves. This page brings together its README, its
official site and pricing page, its Product Hunt page and the official pricing pages
of comparable editors, and says where each fact comes from._
