Desible.ai, a Bengaluru startup that builds AI agents for banks, lenders and insurers,
has raised ₹32 crore (roughly $3.3–3.7 million) in a round led by Prime Venture
Partners, according to [Inc42](https://inc42.com/?p=574992). The round was announced
on 7 October 2026, and existing investor Invention Engine also took part, [DealStreetAsia](https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?p=497476)
reported.

The company is barely a year old. It started with AI voice calls and now wants to
become what Inc42 calls an “AI operating layer” for BFSI (banking, financial services
and insurance): software that runs whole workflows such as renewals, collections
and claims, rather than just answering the phone.

## Key takeaways

 * Desible.ai raised ₹32 crore led by Prime Venture Partners, with Invention Engine
following on. A crore is 10 million rupees. DealStreetAsia calls it a seed-plus
   round.
 * The company says it runs more than 25 AI workflows and handles more than 10 million
customer interactions a month for 40-plus BFSI firms that use or are evaluating
   it. These are company figures.
 * It is up against well-funded Indian voice AI rivals in BFSI, including Navana.
ai (₹40 crore Series A in September 2026) and Arrowhead ($3 million seed in January
   2026).
 * Seed funding for Indian fintech fell 42% year on year in the first half of 2026,
so this is a sizeable seed-stage cheque in a thin market.

## The round: amount, investors and stage

All the reports agree on ₹32 crore and a lead from Prime Venture Partners. They
convert it to dollars differently. [Inc42](https://inc42.com/?p=574992) says about
$3.7 million, and [DealStreetAsia](https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?p=497476) and
[The SaaS News](https://www.thesaasnews.com/news/desible-ai-raises-3-3m-seed-extension/)
say nearly $3.3 million. The rupee figure is the one to rely on. No valuation was
disclosed.

Inc42 describes it as a seed round. DealStreetAsia calls it a seed-plus round and
The SaaS News calls it a seed extension. In practice, all three mean a larger second
cheque at the seed stage, ahead of a Series A.

The money will go into the agentic AI product, compliance infrastructure, go-to-
market (sales and distribution) and faster product development, according to [DealStreetAsia](https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?p=497476).

### Earlier backing from Invention Engine

In March 2026, Desible.ai raised $250,000 from Invention Engine, a lab and accelerator
that works closely with a small number of AI startups, according to [Outlook Business](https://www.outlookbusiness.com/corporate/invention-engine-portfolio-start-ups-raise-25mn-sonic-lamb-cheerio-lead-ai-focused-cohort).
At the time it was described as a multilingual voice AI agent platform for BFSI.
Seven months later the company has a much larger round and a broader pitch.

## What Desible.ai actually does

Desible.ai was founded in 2025 by Uttam Tiwari and Omkar Raikar, according to [DealStreetAsia](https://www.dealstreetasia.com/?p=497476).
Its software handles customer conversations for financial firms. It started with
voice calls and is extending to WhatsApp, SMS and email, according to [Inc42](https://inc42.com/?p=574992).
The listed use cases include policy renewals, collections, lead qualification, welcome
calls, tele-medical examination reports (Tele-MER) for insurance underwriting, and
claims intimation, the first notice of a claim.

“Voice AI is our entry point, not our destination,” Tiwari told [Inc42](https://inc42.com/?p=574992).
The company’s idea is that a call is only one step in a longer process. The same
software should also update records, chase documents and pass cases to humans when
the rules require it.

### What the company claims

Desible.ai says it runs more than 25 agentic workflows across revenue, risk and
compliance, collections, underwriting, service and claims. It also says it handles
more than 10 million customer engagements a month and is used or being evaluated
by more than 40 BFSI institutions, according to [Inc42](https://inc42.com/?p=574992).
None of these figures has been independently verified.

The [company’s website](https://www.desible.ai/) (accessed 15 October 2026) names
its legal entity as Basal Analytics Pvt. Ltd. It claims SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001
certification and compliance with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP)
law. It lists integrations with telephony providers such as Twilio and Ozonetel
and with CRMs such as Salesforce and Zoho. It does not name customers, describing
them only as an IRDAI-licensed third-party administrator and a large health insurer.

## Who is backing it: Prime Venture Partners

Prime Venture Partners is an early-stage Indian fund with a long fintech record.
It closed its fifth fund at $100 million in March 2025, planning to back 16 to 18
startups with first cheques of $2.5 million to $3 million, according to [Entrackr](https://entrackr.com/snippets/prime-venture-partners-closes-fifth-fund-at-100-mn-8791705).
A ₹32 crore round fits that range.

The same report lists Prime’s portfolio companies, including Freo, Niyo and MyGate.
It also lists exits through acquisitions: Recko by Stripe, Happay by CRED, and Ezetap
by Razorpay. That history in payments and lending infrastructure makes BFSI workflow
software a natural bet for the fund.

## The competition in BFSI voice AI

Desible.ai is entering a crowded field. Indian banks, lenders and insurers make
huge numbers of routine calls, and several startups are selling AI agents to handle
them.

 * **Navana.ai** raised ₹40 crore in a Series A led by Ronnie Screwvala in September
2026. It says it has processed more than 100 million voice AI minutes for BFSI
clients such as Bajaj Finserv, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank and Jana Small Finance
Bank, and supports 12 Indian languages, according to [Entrepreneur India](https://india.entrepreneur.com/business-news/voice-ai-startup-navana-ai-raises-inr-40-cr-series-a).
 * **Arrowhead** raised $3 million in a seed round led by Stellaris Venture Partners
in January 2026. It sells voice agents for BFSI sales to more than 50 clients,
including Bank of Baroda Cards, Aditya Birla Capital and Paytm, according to
   [Inc42](https://inc42.com/buzz/arrowhead-raises-3-mn-to-scale-voice-ai-for-bfsi-sales).

Both rivals lead with their own voice technology. Desible.ai’s pitch is the layer
around the call: workflows, audit trails and compliance checks that each lender
or insurer currently builds for itself. Whether buyers want one vendor for the whole
workflow or will keep combining a voice provider with their own systems is the open
question.

## The regulatory backdrop

Selling AI into regulated finance means meeting the rules of the RBI (banks and
lenders), IRDAI (insurers), TRAI (commercial calls and messages) and the DPDP law
on personal data. In August 2025, the Reserve Bank of India published its committee
report on a Framework for Responsible and Ethical Enablement of Artificial Intelligence(
FREE-AI) in the financial sector. It sets out seven guiding principles, or “Sutras”,
and 26 recommendations under six pillars, according to the [RBI’s press release](https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/BS_PressReleaseDisplay.aspx?prid=61018).

For a vendor like Desible.ai, that framework is both a hurdle and a selling point.
Lenders adopting AI agents will want auditable, explainable systems, and a startup
that builds those controls in has an easier sale to a compliance team. Readers should
check current rules with the regulator or a qualified adviser, since guidance in
this area is still developing.

## How this round fits fintech funding

Indian fintech raised $2.0 billion in the first half of 2026, but most of it went
into late-stage mega rounds, according to Tracxn data reported by [Indian Television](https://indiantelevision.com/mam/fintech-funding-jumps-to-2-billion-in-h1-as-mega-deals-outweigh-fewer-rounds/).
Seed funding fell to $68.6 million, down 42% from a year earlier, and early-stage
funding fell 41% from the second half of 2025 to $367 million. Across Indian tech,
AI infrastructure was the most-funded segment in the first nine months of 2026,
at $1.2 billion, according to Tracxn data reported by [MediaBrief](https://mediabrief.com/india-tech-funding-rises-7-to-10-3b-as-deal-volume-falls-38-tracxn/).

So a ₹32 crore seed-stage round for a company founded in 2025 stands out. Investors
are still writing early cheques for AI aimed at a specific industry with clear buyers
and budgets. Track similar deals on our [funding tracker](https://100xfounder.com/funding-tracker/),

## Why it matters

Customer service and collections calls are an early target for AI agents in Indian
finance, because the work is repetitive, heavily regulated and expensive to staff.
Desible.ai is betting that the lasting value lies in running the whole workflow
in a compliant way, not in the voice itself. The next things to watch are named
customers, any independent check of its usage figures, and whether it raises a Series
A against better-funded rivals such as Navana.ai.
