The best AI presentation maker in 2026 depends on where your slides have to end
up. Gamma is the fastest way to turn a prompt or document into a polished deck,
Beautiful.ai and Pitch suit teams that care about brand control and sharing, Canva
is the easy choice if you already design there, and Copilot in PowerPoint or Gemini
in Google Slides make sense when the final file must stay in Microsoft or Google
formats. All prices below come from vendor pages checked on 4 October 2026.

**Key takeaways**

 * Gamma’s paid plans start at $9 per seat a month on annual billing, and its free
plan includes 400 one-time AI credits and export to PowerPoint, PDF and Google
   Slides.
 * Beautiful.ai Pro is $14.50 a month billed annually, Pitch Plus is $13 a month
paid yearly, and Canva Pro is US$144 a year for one person.
 * Copilot in PowerPoint and Gemini in Google Slides now build whole decks from
a prompt, but both need a qualifying paid Microsoft or Google plan.
 * Most tools meter AI through monthly credits, so compare the allowance, not just
   the headline price.
 * Vendor risk is real: Tome’s founders walked away from a presentation app with
20 million users to build a CRM, according to Lightfield.

## How we compared AI presentation tools

We take no affiliate fees and did not receive free accounts from any vendor here.
Instead of scoring decks on taste, we compared what each company publishes on its
own pricing and help pages, against five practical criteria for founders and marketers:

 * **Output you can edit.** Can you fix a slide by hand after the AI drafts it,
and export to PowerPoint (PPTX), PDF or Google Slides?
 * **Brand control.** Custom themes, fonts, logos and templates, so a sales deck
does not look like a template gallery.
 * **AI allowance.** Credits or usage limits included in each plan.
 * **Sharing and analytics.** Useful for fundraising and sales decks, where you
want to know who opened what.
 * **Transparent price.** Whether you can buy without a sales call.

If you want to run your own test, give every tool the same brief and the same source
document, such as last quarter’s investor update, and time how long it takes to
reach a deck you would actually send. Then export it to PPTX or PDF and open it
on another machine. The editing time after the first draft, not the draft itself,
is usually what separates the tools.

## Comparison: AI presentation makers and prices

  | Tool | Best for | Free option | Entry paid price |
   | Gamma | Prompt-to-deck speed, web-style decks | Yes, 400 one-time credits | Plus $9/seat/month billed annually |
 | Beautiful.ai | Auto-formatting “Smart Slides”, brand control | 14-day trial | Pro $14.50/month billed annually |
 | Pitch | Collaborative team decks, link analytics | Yes, 100 AI credits | Plus $13/month paid yearly |
 | Canva | Design-led decks, marketing teams already on Canva | Yes, limited AI uses | Pro US$144/year |
 | Copilot in PowerPoint | Organisations standardised on Microsoft 365 | No | Copilot Business $21/user/month add-on |
 | Gemini in Google Slides | Teams on Google Workspace | No | Workspace Business Standard $14/user/month |

## Gamma: fastest from idea to first draft

Gamma turns a prompt, outline or uploaded file into a deck, document or simple website,
and it is the tool most founders try first. Its [pricing page](https://gamma.app/pricing)
lists a free plan with 400 credits at sign-up (they do not refill), up to 10 slides
per prompt, import from PDF and PPTX, and export to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides.
Plus costs $9 per seat a month ($108 a year), with 1,000 monthly credits, up to
100 slides per prompt and no Gamma branding. Pro is $18 ($216 a year) and adds 4,000
credits, custom branding, detailed analytics, custom domains and API access. Ultra,
at $90, is for heavy users who want 20,000 credits and the most advanced models.

Gamma says it uses models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google, plus image models such
as Flux, Ideogram and Leonardo. Unused credits roll over up to twice the monthly
amount, and customers in India can pay by UPI, India’s instant bank-transfer system.
The company is also on solid footing: TechCrunch [reported in November 2025](https://techcrunch.com/2025/11/10/ai-powerpoint-killer-gamma-hits-2-1b-valuation-100m-arr-founder-says/)
that Gamma raised a $68 million Series B led by Andreessen Horowitz at a $2.1 billion
valuation, and CEO Grant Lee said it had passed $100 million in annual recurring
revenue profitably, with 70 million users.

**Watch out for:** Gamma’s card-based layouts look best when presented inside Gamma
or as a link. If investors or clients expect a conventional PPTX, export early and
check the formatting.

## Beautiful.ai and Pitch: brand control and team decks

### Beautiful.ai

Beautiful.ai’s selling point is “Smart Slides” that rearrange themselves as you
add content, which stops decks drifting off-brand. According to its [pricing page](https://www.beautiful.ai/pricing),
Pro costs $14.50 a month for individuals, billed annually, and teams of two to 20
pay $40 per user a month billed annually or $50 monthly. Every seat includes unlimited
AI content generation, more than 300 Smart Slide layouts, AI image generation, an
AI writing assistant, translation and a custom theme builder. There is a 14-day
free trial.

It suits teams that send many similar decks, such as sales proposals or monthly
reports, where consistency matters more than creative freedom.

### Pitch

Pitch is built for teams editing decks together. Its [pricing page](https://pitch.com/pricing)
lists a free plan with unlimited presentations and 100 AI credits that do not renew.
Paid plans, quoted per month when paying yearly, are Plus at $13 (500 AI credits
a month, custom fonts, video uploads and PowerPoint export without Pitch branding),
Team at $19 (tracked links, three teamspaces and shared “pitch rooms”) and Business
at $25 (750 credits and unlimited tracked links). A “Pitch Agent” generates presentations,
and the company says more than 4 million teams use the product.

The tracked links are the practical draw for founders: you can see visits, slide
views and time spent, which helps when following up with investors or prospects.

## Canva: if your brand already lives there

Canva’s [presentations page](https://www.canva.com/presentations/) describes Canva
AI’s Guided Presentations, which asks about audience, style and length, builds an
outline you can reorder, then generates an editable deck. Exports include PowerPoint,
PDF, video and a Canva website. Free accounts get a limited number of AI uses.

On its [pricing page](https://www.canva.com/pricing/), Canva Pro costs US$144 a
year for one person with ten times the AI usage of the free plan, while Canva Business
is US$250 a year per person with 20 times the free allowance and up to 100 brand
kits. Canva also notes that the law on who owns copyright in AI-generated content
is unclear; it says it makes no copyright claim over what you generate, subject
to its terms.

## Copilot in PowerPoint and Gemini in Google Slides

For many companies the deck has to end up as a PowerPoint or Google Slides file
anyway. Both suites now generate full decks from a prompt.

### Copilot in PowerPoint

Microsoft’s [support page](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/create-a-new-presentation-with-copilot-in-powerpoint-3222ee03-f5a4-4d27-8642-9c387ab4854d)
explains that you open Copilot in PowerPoint, choose Agent Mode and describe the
deck. Copilot may ask about audience and style, produces an outline you can refine,
then builds the slides. It works best from a Word document that uses proper heading
styles and is under 24 MB, and starting from your organisation’s template keeps
its theme. AI images carry C2PA content credentials, an industry standard for labelling
generated media. Microsoft notes limits too: one output language per prompt, and
you cannot add extra context in the same prompt when you reference a file.

Pricing sits on the [Copilot pricing page](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/copilot/pricing):
Microsoft 365 Copilot Business is $21 per user a month paid yearly, with a first-
year promotional price of $18 for eligible customers between 1 July and 31 December
2026. Solo users can get Copilot in PowerPoint through [Microsoft 365 Personal](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/buy/compare-all-microsoft-365-products)
at $99.99 a year.

### Gemini in Google Slides

Google’s [help page](https://support.google.com/docs/answer/17111393?hl=en) says
Gemini can generate fully editable presentations. You describe the deck, optionally
add Drive files as sources, and can upload an existing deck so Gemini matches its
style. Gemini then shows a plan with an overview, sources and a slide-by-slide outline
that you approve before it builds. The feature is currently desktop-only and English-
only, and needs an eligible Workspace or Google AI plan. [Workspace Business Standard](https://workspace.google.com/pricing),
the first tier with Gemini across Docs and other apps, is $14 per user a month at
standard pricing.

General assistants are moving into slides as well. [Anthropic’s pricing page](https://claude.com/pricing),
for example, lists Claude Slides among the features of its $20-a-month Pro plan.

## A warning about vendor risk

AI presentation tools are a crowded market, and not every product survives. Tome
was one of the best-known early AI deck makers; Lightfield, the company its founders
went on to build, describes the move on its [press page](https://lightfield.app/blog/venturebeat-tome-s-founders-ditch-viral-presentation-app-with-20m-users-to-build-ai-native-crm)
as ditching a viral presentation app with 20 million users to build an AI-native
CRM. The lesson for a startup is simple: keep master copies of important decks,
such as your fundraising deck and board updates, in an exportable format, and test
the PPTX or PDF export before you commit a team to any tool.

## Which AI presentation maker should you choose?

 * **Fundraising deck on a deadline:** draft in Gamma or Pitch, then export and
polish. Pitch’s tracked links help with investor follow-ups. See who is raising
   on our [funding tracker](https://100xfounder.com/funding-tracker/).
 * **Sales team sending many proposals:** Beautiful.ai or Pitch Business for templates
   and consistency.
 * **Marketing team already designing in Canva:** Canva Pro or Business, so decks
   share your brand kit.
 * **Company standardised on Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace:** Copilot or Gemini,
so files stay in the formats clients and IT expect.

Whichever you choose, the AI draft is a starting point. Check every number, chart
and claim, because the tools can produce confident-looking slides with wrong figures.

## Bottom line

For most founders, Gamma is the best first try for speed, Pitch for team decks with
analytics, Beautiful.ai for strict brand consistency and Canva for design-led marketing
material. If your company already pays for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, test
Copilot or Gemini before adding another subscription. Budget by credits, keep exportable
copies, and review every slide by hand.

## FAQ

### What is the best free AI presentation maker?

Gamma, Pitch and Canva all have free plans. Gamma gives 400 one-time credits, Pitch
gives 100 AI credits that do not renew, and Canva offers a limited number of AI
uses.

### Can AI presentation tools export to PowerPoint?

Yes. Gamma, Pitch (on paid plans without branding) and Canva export to PPTX, and
Copilot works inside PowerPoint itself. Always check formatting after export.

### Is Gamma better than PowerPoint Copilot?

Gamma is faster for a first draft and cheaper for individuals. Copilot is better
when the final file must be a native PowerPoint deck using your company template.

### Does Google Slides have AI deck generation?

Yes. Gemini in Google Slides can generate full, editable presentations from a prompt
and Drive files, on desktop and in English, with an eligible Workspace or Google
AI plan.

### Who owns the copyright in AI-generated slides?

The law is unsettled. Canva, for example, says it makes no copyright claim over
AI output you create, subject to its terms. Check each tool’s terms for commercial
use.
